Descripción

Injuries are an unfortunate occurrence in many sports, often having devastating consequences for athletes and their promising careers. However, it has been scientifically proven that structured warm-up exercises can significantly reduce the risk of injuries by over 50%.

In response to this crucial need, the “Get Set – Train smarter” program was developed in conjunction with the 2014 and 2016 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China, and Lillehammer, Norway. This innovative initiative is the result of a collaborative effort between the International Olympic Committee, the Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center, various Norwegian and international sports federations, and Making Waves AS.

Get Set – Train smarter aims to prevent sports injuries by offering effective and evidence-based workout routines tailored to your needs. It is not only designed for young talents and their coaches but also for anyone engaged in physical activity.

The program features video demonstrations of exercises accompanied by concise instructions to ensure correct execution. The exercises are presented with variations and three progressive levels to increase difficulty and challenge as you progress. The workouts are designed to be performed with minimal equipment, making them safe and easily implementable regardless of your location.

The app provides a comprehensive range of sports-specific exercise programs, covering 40 summer and 15 winter sports. Additionally, targeted injury prevention exercises for specific body parts are available under the “Body” section, addressing shoulder, back, groin, hamstring, knee, and ankle concerns.

To aid accessibility and convenience, all exercise programs can be downloaded as PDF files with visual references and short descriptions, facilitating easy sharing with teammates, coaches, friends, and family.

Get Set is available for iOS and Android platforms, supporting nine languages including English, French, Spanish, Russian, German, Norwegian, Chinese, Korean, and Finnish. Best of all, the app is accessible for free.

Upon first viewing an exercise, the app downloads the corresponding video to your device. For a seamless experience, it is recommended to use a Wi-Fi connection to avoid potential data charges. Once the exercise videos are downloaded on your mobile device, they are stored locally, ensuring that you can access the content from anywhere, regardless of internet connectivity.

Exciting updates include the addition of Korean and Finnish language support, as well as bug fixes to enhance the overall user experience.
